for Eliphalet Perkins

1857 first wreck Dover England.
Bought and repaired by a Belgium shipowner. He changed the name to
Leopold.
1858 on her first journey under the name of
Leopold heading to Calao Port of Lima, Peru, she encoutered a storm near the
Falkland Isles at Great Jason Isle. The ship was sunk and all the crew
drowned but one. He lived alone on the island for three weeks
before he was rescued by the American Brig "Nancy" and her Captain
William Horton Smiley.
